Christmas Lights Switch On – Saturday 1st December

Celebrate the start of  the Haverfordwest Festival Season with our annual Christmas Lights Switch On Event on Saturday 1st December!

This will be some terrific entertainment throughout the day before the Mayor of Haverfordwest Cllr Sue Murray switches the lights on at 6pm, followed by a grand firework display to cap things off! We will also be announcing the winner of our Christmas Giveaway grand prize LIVE during the event itself – please check our Facebook to enter.

We will be giving away an array of prizes, kindly provided by our stores here at Riverside throughout the run up to Christmas and the New Year, so keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook and here on our website!

Throughout the day there will be Children’s Rides, Stalls and Hot Food

From 2pm to 6pm

There will be Free Face Painting and we will also have the Victorian Ladies and their Dragons
“The Victorian Lady Explorers would love you to meet their Baby Dragons! They have travelled far to find these charming and friendly little creatures and will be thrilled to introduce the good folk of Haverfordwest to the delights of dragons. These stalwart Ladies may even be hoping to find a new species of Welsh dragon…..”

From 4pm to 6pm

We will have Preseli Pete and the Merrymakers, the FF Dancers and the Girl and the Geek
Preseli Pete and the Merrymakers will bring their irrepressible energy and enthusiasm to Haverfordwest with their tea chest bass and steampunk style skiffle, pop and Christmas rock with a bit of ska and swing thrown in. Jingle your bells!

The very talented local dance school FF Dancers will be performing some of their latest lively dance routines.
The Girl and the Geek who specialise in Swing and Pop music, but are never afraid to try something new, the girl and the geek have been bringing their own style of slinky smooth swing and upbeat bouncing pop tracks to pubs and clubs all across Pembrokeshire. The girl and the geek promise a gig that’ll appeal both to those from the golden age of swing and the young generation of pop lovers.


The Mayor of Haverfordwest Cllr Sue Murray will switch the Christmas Lights On and then this will be followed by a Grand Firework Display.

It is going to be a really fun packed and lively event for the whole family to enjoy so come and join in the festive spirit with us here at Riverside Shopping.
This is only the start of our Christmas Festivities as we will be holding our Special Christmas Farmers Markets on Friday 7th, 14th and 21st December. As well as their being a fantastic selection of local produce and craft on sale they will also have our local schools singing at each market.
