Cinema Gets Go Ahead

Pembrokeshire County Council has given Fairacre planning consent to build a new 5 screen cinema and 4 restaurants within the Haverfordwest town centre.

The Riverside Shopping Centre Manager Roland Keevill said that he was absolutely delighted to see Pembrokeshire County Council approving this planning application and with the Haverfordwest Town Council, Haverfordwest Chamber of Commerce and the Business Circle all showing their support for the scheme it just goes to show the level of local support there is for this town centre redevelopment project.

Roland said that the role of town centres is changing and he believes that with this development along with Pembrokeshire County Council’s new library, gallery, TIC and cafe will provide a much-improved leisure offer within our town centre. We believe these developments will create additional footfall and this will benefit many of the existing businesses within our town centre. This development is likely to act as a catalyst for further investment to take place in the town.

To facilitate the development the Wilko will downsize. This will also enable Wilko to trade more efficiently from a store suited to their trading format. We are delighted that Wilkinson has decided to continue trading from what will become slightly smaller premises, as they do provide a very valuable contribution to our town centres retail offer.

To keep everyone up to date we will continually provide progress reports throughout this exciting development. So stay connected.
